How it works.

QWhich channels can ChatGuard capture?+
Bloomberg IB chat and persistent rooms, corporate email, and recorded voice calls — all on one timeline. Other messaging platforms and bespoke systems can be added on request.
QDoes it work in real time?+
Yes. Messages are captured, classified and surfaced live, so alerts fire and the desk dashboard updates as conversations happen — not in a batch the next day.
QWhat exactly gets extracted from chat?+
For Desk Intelligence: RFQs, quotes, fills, counterparties, tickers, instructions, open follow-ups and sentiment. For Compliance: keyword and pattern matches, policy breaches and conduct signals. It's the same record, read two ways.

Obligations & data.

QHow long is data retained?+
A minimum of five years, enforced automatically, with tamper-evident timestamping aligned to FCA and FINRA expectations. Retention windows can be extended to your policy.
QWhere is our data stored?+
You choose: self-host inside your own data centre, or run in a private cloud tenancy. Data never has to leave your perimeter, and it's encrypted in transit and at rest.
QWho can see the logs?+
Only authorised reviewers. Access is role-based with per-user permissions, and every review action is itself logged for a complete audit trail.
QCan we produce reports for a regulator?+
Yes. Audit packs for the FCA, FINRA or internal review are generated on demand, with the evidence assembled and formatted for you.
QIs monitoring employees legal?+
Monitoring is widely used in regulated firms but must follow applicable employment and data-protection law (including UK GDPR) — for example appropriate notice and proportionality. ChatGuard provides the tooling; your firm should confirm its own legal basis. We don't provide legal advice.

Yes — we run a walkthrough on your own Bloomberg and email data so you can see the desk intelligence and compliance output before committing.
